Madonna (or 'Madge' as she's affectionately known by some of her gay fans) has been around the pop music scene for over forty years. It's only natural that during that time her popularity would have ebbed and flowed. That said, 2026 has turned out to be a banner year for her. The queen of pop released her 15th studio album back in July, and it became her 10th #1 charting release on the Billboard Top 200 Albums chart. It also helped her attain the status of having a #1 charting album across four different decades (1980s, 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s). Confessions II has been billed as a sequel of sorts to Madonna's 2005 record, Confessions on a Dance Floor . I liked a number of songs off that album, including the ABBA-sampled Hung Up , as well as Forbidden Love and Jump .
